The problem with Unions

The maker of Twinkies will ask a judge for permission to liquidate and close all operations as soon as November 20 if workers do not end the strike.
Hostess Brands Inc. said it will ask a U.S. bankruptcy judge for permission to liquidate if enough striking workers do not return to work by the end of Thursday to let the maker of Twinkies and Wonder Bread resume normal operations.
Wednesday's announcement escalates a bitter dispute between the 82-year-old company and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, whose members constitute about one-third of Hostess' nearly 18,000 employees.
A union spokeswoman said the union would have no immediate comment.
Workers at Hostess plants across the country had gone on strike or refused to cross picket lines on November 9 to protest pay cuts that Hostess had in bankruptcy court won the right to impose. That prompted the company at the time to raise the specter of liquidation in case of a widespread strike.
On Wednesday, Hostess said that if enough striking workers did not return to work by 5 p.m. ET the next day, the company would on Friday ask U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Drain in White Plains, New York, who oversees its Chapter 11 reorganization, for permission to shut down and sell assets.
"We simply do not have the financial resources to survive an ongoing national strike," Hostess Chief Executive Gregory Rayburn said in a statement.
The Irving, Texas-based company had previously reached agreement on pay and benefit cuts with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, its largest union.
Hostess said if it wins permission to liquidate, it will begin to close all operations as soon as November 20, two days before Thanksgiving, and fire all plant workers except those needed to prepare its facilities for sale.
Earlier this week, Hostess said the strike forced it to permanently close three of its 36 bakeries, costing 627 jobs.
The company said it has 565 distribution centers and 570 bakery outlet stores, as well as the 33 other bakeries.
Hostess filed for protection from creditors on January 11, its second bankruptcy filing in less than three years, after failing to win concessions on pension and health benefits. The company had about $860 million of debt at the time.
The case is In re: Hostess Brands Inc, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York, No. 12-22052.

The biblical god repents

Genesis 6:6
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Exodus 32:14
And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
Deuteronomy 32:36
For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants.
1 Samuel 15:11
It repenteth me [God] that I have set up Saul to be king.
1 Samuel 15:35
The Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
2 Samuel 24:16
The Lord repented of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, it is enough: stay now thine hand.
1 Chronicles 21:15
The Lord beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand.
Isaiah 38:1-5
In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah ... said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. ... Thus saith the LORD ... I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
Jeremiah 15:6
I [God] am weary of repenting.
Jeremaih 18:8
I [God] will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
Jeremaih 26:3
That I [God]may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them.
Jeremiah 26:13
The Lord will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
Jeremiah 26:19
The Lord repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them.
Jeremaih 42:10
For I [God] repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
Amos 7:3, 6
The Lord repented for this.
Jonah 3:10
God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them.

How can an all knowing god repent of any action he has done? He knows in advance what the results of his action will be. He is all powerful and capable of doing anything he wants. Repentance is an action that one engages in when one is disappointed with the decision and results of that decision. How is that remotely possible for an all knowing god?

The blasphemous founders.

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God…Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.”—Romans 13:1 & 5

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.”—1 Peter 2:13-14

"Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no
advantage to you." - Hebrews 13:17
If you are a Christian and looking for Biblical permission to resist the governing authorities, you are not going to find it in the bible.

Please keep in mind the USA would not exist if the founders followed the rules of the  bible.

Does the biblical god ever change his mind?

Jer. 18:7-10 "If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it."

Exodus 32:14 "And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people."

Genesis 6:6,7 "And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth . . . And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth . . . for it repenteth me that I have made him."
Jonah 3:10 ". . . and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not."

Did Jesus change the laws regarding adultery?

How should adulterers be punished? According to Leviticus 20:10, they should be executed. However, according to John 8:3-8, they should not be punished. And let us dispense with the rational that Jesus came along later and changed the laws of the OT god. Jesus IS god, eternal and the creator, according to YOUR story. Therefore, he was around when the OT laws were created. In fact, he had to have created them.
The verse says that the woman was caught in the act of adultery. If she was caught having sex, then the people who caught her would have known who the other party is. What Jesus said was let him that is without sin cast the first stone. According to this book of fables, there is no one who is without sin except for ,of course, Jesus. it would be impossible for one of them to cast the first stone since there are no people who are without sin. Jesus also knows that all people are sinners. He is therefore, not permitting anyone to punish her which is the opposite of what Leviticus 20:10 requires to occur.
Now, keep in mind two other points. First, Jesus is supposedly god and therefore all knowing. He is the judge of mankind. He could therefore punish the woman since he would know of her guilt and since as god does not need anyone else to testify against her. Second, Jesus is without sin, and therefore COULD cast that first stone.
All the verses show is that Jesus made a change in how adulterers should be handled. But that contradicts what Jesus said regarding the law. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill" (Matthew 5:17)
